In the genealogy of Genesis 5-6, a whole life is not measured by the length of years lived, but by walking with God; it originates from a relationship with Him. God's people must reject the world's pattern of simply living and dying, and instead walk faithfully with the Lord, moving forward in sincere devotion to Christ.
