Fine Dining with Hypocrites

May 5, 2024    Austin Keller

In Luke 11:37-54, Jesus accuses the Pharisees of hypocrites who are more concerned with outward appearances than true righteousness. He rebukes them for neglecting justice and love for God. Essentially, Jesus calls out the Pharisees for being hypocrites because they prioritize outward appearances over the condition of their hearts. What is taught through the dinner conversation is the necessity to cleanse our hearts so we can live for God. If we seek Jesus, we can remove the mask of hypocrisy and live according to the kingdom.
